PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Refurbishment and static consolidation of the Old Military Building in Port Louis (UNESCO World Heritage Site) to be converted into the Intercontinental Slavery Museum. The building is one of the oldest buildings of the island and is highly significant in the history of slavery, as it was constructed by slaves in 1740. Plot of land 6.300 s.m.

 

Activities performed: Historical Development Report including historical analyses and assessment, Conservation needs Report, assessment of significance for UNESCO, Feasibility Study and Preliminary Design
